How would you get more people playing RPGs?
I don't usually actively proselytise people to play roleplaying games these days, but I'm more than happy to act and support to help them explore the hobby. In the past, I've demoed at larger conventions, but these days I try to make the Garricons as friendly as possible for new players. This has partly been through systems like the safety tags we use for scenarios, and partly through engaging with them before, during and after the convention.
There are a lot more routes into the hobby for new players these days; YouTube, actual play channels, even media like Stranger Things that has made D&D seem cool. The key is to welcome people without prejudice and with warmth; to be a little like Eddie Munson.
